This Privacy Policy explains how Anil Balabhai Gohil, operator of Mehfil (“Mehfil”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects your information when you use the Mehfil app and website (the “Service”). By using Mehfil, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — such as the nickname, email address, age confirmation and language preferences you provide when you register.
• Conversation content — the messages you send to characters, and “memories” the Service saves to make future chats feel continuous.
• Usage information — basic technical and activity data (such as device/browser type, app interactions and timestamps) used to operate and improve the Service.
• Payment information — when you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your full card or bank details; we receive only limited information such as payment status.

2. How we use your information

• to provide the Service, including generating character replies and remembering relevant details;
• to personalise your experience (for example, surfacing characters in your language);
• to process subscriptions and prevent fraud or abuse;
• to respond to your support requests;
• to maintain, secure and improve the Service.

3. AI processing

To generate replies, your messages and relevant context are sent to third-party AI model providers that process them on our behalf solely to produce a response. We select providers that handle data under their own security and privacy commitments.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who help us operate Mehfil (such as hosting, our payment partner Razorpay, and AI model providers), under appropriate confidentiality obligations;
• Legal authorities, where required by law or to protect rights, safety and the integrity of the Service.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your memories and conversations within the app, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. Sessions are protected and traffic is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

7. Your choices & rights

You may access or update your profile in the app, delete individual memories or chats, and request access to or deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email support@mehfil.pro.

8. Children

Mehfil is intended only for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the Service, please contact us and we will remove the relevant data.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use them to track you across other websites.

We may update this Policy from time to time and will post the revised version here with a new “last updated” date.
